The Journal of the Wisconsin Council for the Social Studies (WCSS) publishes article-length manuscripts, brief reports, and book reviews on research, evaluation, theory and developmental activities related to K-12 social studies curriculum and instruction and social studies teacher education. It is published annually in the spring as a service to our members. Articles published in The Journal are “blind” peer reviewed by our editorial board. Our goal is to provide a journal that is both useful and readable for our members.
Manuscripts should follow the format of articles in previous issues of The Journal or the guidelines in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association. Manuscripts should be prepared using Microsoft Word and sent as an e-mail attachment to one of The Journal’s current editors, Dr. Kelly Collum colldk@gmail.com or Deb Foster dfoster@npsd.k12.wi.us.
We would be happy to discuss a possible article with you or receive information about a person whom we could contact to determine if s/he were interested in writing for The Journal. While we are particularly interested in Wisconsin authors, that is certainly not a requirement in order to be published in The Journal. Feel free to contact either of the co-editors by e-mail.
In the future, PDFs of select articles from issues of The Journal will be found below.
